Some Presidents actual care about the people who voted for them (and even those who didn’t)

@Theyitis And they are wrong.. Most of Americas wealth now doesnt come from production or provision of services.. It comes from the wealth transfer from one person to another and according to the debunked trickle down theory, the wealth has to start at the top. In reality, most of it stayed there.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Sure, but that doesn’t make them any less likely to believe it. It’s part of their identity, like cowboy boots, country music, fishing and hunting, pickup trucks, McDonald’s, and Fox News; furthermore, it shapes all of their political beliefs. No amount of evidence nor logic will ever convince them that simply not being rich is not something they need to be ashamed of or that maybe being a rich man in a poor country is rather shameful.

@Theyitis I agree with you.. And I accept thats why its never going to happen in America. I have talked around the subject with a few teaching psychologists and while opinions vary, they all agree there is something in the US society that seeks and rewards winning at any price of the individual, rather that seeking the general good for the group..Success can be selfish at the cost of others. The harm done doesnt matter as much if its no one you know..A lot of different factors are in the mix... While every culture has individuals like that, America actually teaches it.. And again, thats why I look purely at the money. I dont judge by right or wrong.. Just by the results in the long term..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Are you a psychologist? What you said was interesting.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@SatanBurger No. Although some of the basics of psychology factor into some of my work.. But when you work in a University for 30 years, you get to talk and listen to a lot of interesting people on a lot of subjects. I sat in on a lot of lectures and read a lot of texts in my time. Psychology and motivational Theory factor into how people make purchase decisions. Interesting side note I just saw in the news, which highlights the differing values of different societies.. Kanye West has been refused an entry visa to Australia. The stated reason being his anti semetic song lyrics..His celebrity status may have got him more deference in America (although clearly the visa issue doesnt apply..) But here, being special doesnt cut you much slack..In fact in some cases you can be made an example of if you step out of line..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman I wish Americans were like that, I dunno what makes us like this.

@whowasthatmaskedman That's hilarious about Kanye, he's a little unhinged so I'm glad they didn't allow him in

@SatanBurger I was just making the point that Americans (many of them) are just different, for some reasom. Their "normal" just isnt the same. As for who we let into the country. We do have a rul against convicted felons too.. One in particular comes to mind..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman I have a theory but it's kinda an obvious one. Even though it's obvious I could still be wrong. But I have noticed that there's a case of right winged political influencers gaining traction. Before you used to have experience but now anyone on YouTube can apply for president it seems. And we seem to not really hold anyone accountable where it kinda seems like a free for all.

But I have noticed that with the rise of influencers have correlated with the rise of Trump. And people in America seem to take things like that as it's very engrained in our culture.

The anti vaccine movement, all the political charged talks on gun violence in schools. Usually, it's political influencers that have gained traction within those communities.

It's like now we have all these small cults, vying for attention. Maga is a cult, it's not official but that's what it is.

I was hearing about evangelical, mormons and other cults as well. There's a whole bunch of areas in America where cults live in gated communities and have their own rules.

America seems to be purely a consumerist society, they consume until they're sick including influencers.

@SatanBurger I accept all of that.. Again, the topic of American society and its influence on the world is popular.. So spoken about a lot in Academic circles..I could give you a thousand words on the possible influences that make Americans more "shallow" in the eyes of some other cultures..But I suppose it depends on where you are looking from.. Thats why i always look at the money flows first..😷
