Preparations are underway for President Trump’s military parade Saturday, which also happens to be his birthday. The event is officially meant to celebrate the Army’s 250th birthday.
When?: A festival on the National Mall will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, and the parade will start at 6:30 p.m.
Where?: Constitution Avenue NW
What’s involved?: Significant military hardware, including tanks, helicopters, armed fighting vehicles, a paratrooper landing and fireworks.
Price tag: The event is expected to cost taxpayers roughly $45 million, including $16m budgeted for repairing the roads after. Trump argues the cost is “peanuts” compared to the value.
