Trump won. Just because someone votes for a candidate doesn't mean there is something wrong with Americans. I could just as easily say...you voted for Harris, whats wrong with you.

@jeancolby if we were talking about any other president than Trump, I would usually agree with you. This situation isn’t even a little bit normal. Whatever our country has become, it is no longer the country I grew up in, and feel nothing but shame being a part of this dystopian nightmare. I understand why America is now hated around the world, and I think we deserve it.

@RockerDad You are free to go elsewhere if you are unhappy here .. if elsewhere will take you.

@BrandNewMan if this is what America will be like moving forward, I am very much considering that. I take some slight solace in the fact that Trump is an old man, with an unhealthy lifestyle. Hopefully, he will not survive his full term, and pray that Trumpism will die with him. If this is the new norm of what America will be like in a post-Trump era, however, other than a handful of friends, and some extended family, there isn’t much keeping me here. I’m ok with taking my pension, and seeking a normal country to live in. I used to take a lot of pride in being an American, but no longer.

@BrandNewMan the difference is with Trump, it’s more than disagreeing with him politically. It’s personal. I take issue with WHO he is as a person. Even after he lost the presidency in 2020, I think he was possibly even more damaging to the country than when he was in office. This is a man who will never stop while he has breath in his body. The amount of damage he has done just since January is incalculable. Obviously, it’s not just him that is the problem, it’s also the the awful people in his orbit..the Marjory Taylor Greenes, the Stephen Millers, the Steve Bannons, the Mike Johnsons, the Kash Patels the RFK Jr’s…..these are evil, dangerous people, who have gotten a taste of power, and they’re not going to want to give it back when he’s gone. I’m not sure if the damage to this country can be repaired in my life time. I’m equally angry at many of those in my own party, who seem to have removed their spines, and have essentially given Trump unchecked power. Unchecked power in the hands of amoral, sociopath like Trump, is inherently dangerous.

@jeancolby I agree that’s true. I’ve had about 50 percent of the elections go in my direction over my lifetime, but this is not a normal situation. I feel like we have begun to normalize insane behavior in Trump and others. The majority of centrists in either party have either left politics completely , or assumed crash positions.

This endless cliché of false equivalence is getting the world nowhere, denying that there is actually a good and an evil side is just keeping us stuck in the same rut. If we were talking about HItler or Mussolinli I imagine your false equivalence would cease and you could recognize which side is evil, and that there is indeed somethign wrong with the supporters of evil.
@BrandNewMan
BS ... unlike Trump, Obama was not even a fascist, just another ordinary, boring centrist (aka Republican Lite):

Hoping a sitting President dies rather than that he succeeds in making things better seems unique to liberals
