Clinton, Bush number two, Obama and Trump added countries to NATO and moved NATO eastward despite promises to Russia.

But Americans don't have to admit they provoked Russia.

No formal commitment was made to not move NATO east. Some claim there was a verbal commitment. Gorbachev has claimed there was a commitment in some interviews and denied it in others. So, tough luck Russia.

@MoveAlong that's ridiculous, it's in writing and yes they promised. You can't trust the West - it's only pausing the hostilities. It's always going to return to the war and try to take over.

@MoveAlong yes, even the UN charter is abusable. Not a formal commitment for the USA!
And that's important to remember. Don't expect peace, they look only pause the aggression and they're taking everything away.
