Oops!!! Trump Does Not Have the Authority to Unilaterally Impose Tariffs

A US federal court has blocked President Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs, in a major blow to a key part of his economic policies.
The Court of International Trade ruled that an emergency law invoked by the White House does not give the president unilateral authority to impose tariffs on nearly every country.
The Manhattan-based court said the US Constitution gives Congress exclusive powers to regulate commerce with other nations and this is not superseded by the president's remit to safeguard the economy.

Article II says he does. No where in the constitution does it grant executive powers to the judicial branch . This is just libs being obstructionist. SCOTUS is going to earn their overtime pay .

@TexChik You have it exactly backwards. The ruling is that nowhere does the Constitution grand legislative powers to the executive branch. Article I, Section 8 grants Congress the power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imports, and excises, and to regulate commerce with foreign nations

@MoveAlong wrong O , The appeals court has already reversed that ridiculous ruling .

@TexChik The ruling was not reversed. it was temporarly paused pending appeals.
