Oops!!! Trump Does Not Have the Authority to Unilaterally Impose Tariffs

A US federal court has blocked President Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs, in a major blow to a key part of his economic policies.
The Court of International Trade ruled that an emergency law invoked by the White House does not give the president unilateral authority to impose tariffs on nearly every country.
The Manhattan-based court said the US Constitution gives Congress exclusive powers to regulate commerce with other nations and this is not superseded by the president's remit to safeguard the economy.

Trump does not have the authority to do lots of what he does or wants to do, as far as I can see -- but if hew ignores the courts and orders his cronies to go ahead, what happens?

@ChipmunkErnie The answer to that is obvious.. He knows he can do it and maybe go further next time. He can appeal this decision twice, which he probably will. And durung that time few people are going to risk importing anything they dont have to. One interesting point was Steven millers statement condemning the courts ruling. This does hint that he is fine with the economy tanking.. I have stated elsewhere that in my view chaos and discontent and good for his agenda.😷
