Qatar To Gift Trump Luxury 747 Jet

Trumo to accept a luxury 747 jet, currently owned by the Qatar family for his personal use.

The US will pay about $500M to install the communications/security equipment needed for Presidential business.

The Jet will be Trump's personal property, as as in he will continue to own it post presidency.

Excuse used by Trump is that Boeing is taking too long to complete the jets under construction in San Antonio. Note that the contract for these planes, and requirements, was signed by Trump himself during his first term, and he made a huge fuss over it at the time, as according to him, he was able to secure a better deal, and improve the specifications.

Another great deal brought to us by Trump.

As an aside, a Netanyahu aide was indicted for accepting financial favors from Qatar.

Keep in mind that the 747 in question is already 13 years old. Because the 747 is no longer produced by Boeing, this means that any 747 out there in the world is now considered obsolete.

The reason Boeing stopped producing it was because the concept was born from 1970's aviation technology and has never changed over the last 50+ years, though modified versions of the same concept were made by Boeing.

Trump has a history of buying old, obsolete jet aircraft which he puts a few bucks into plus a new paint job and then flaunts his prize for the world to see.

His first was an old Eastern Airlines 727 which had been mothballed in the Nevada desert since Eastern went bankrupt, which he purchased 'as is' for a mere $4 million US. The engines alone were worth $4.5 million at the time. His current 757 has a similar history... narrow bodied, short-range aircraft, all show, no substance.

This 747 Trump is now talking about cannot be modified nor upgraded to what the current Air Force 1 aircraft is currently equipped as, which means this new 747 does not even qualify as a Presidential Air Force 1 strategic government aircraft. This means it will never enter US government service as the new Air Force 1 during the remaining time that Trump is in Office.

Again, this Qatar gift to Trump serves as nothing more than a distraction from what America's true issues are today, which Trump doesn't want anyone to be talking about because it would reveal his incompetency as a Leader.

@swirlie I agree with all of that. This is a straight out personal bribe to Trump. And from his point of view. all for show.. And whatever the Qataris get back will come ourt of the US taxpayers pockets..😷

I would imagine that the Qataris have already received what they wanted from Trump and now this obsolete and very fuel inefficient jet will serve as payment in full for America's tax payer-funded services rendered.

@swirlie Equally possible. And I do like your idea of description of the plane as obselete and fuel inefficient. a lot like the US economy..😷

I do technical research for the nautical marine industry and my tech sources overlap oddly enough into the aviation industry. In many ways, both run parallel tracks when it comes to descriptive analysis.

It is a 747-8, the same model that is set to b the Airforce One. It is the last model Boeing produced before production stopped in 2023.

It is newer than the planes that have already been delivered to the Air Force and have been undergoing modification, over the past several years, at an air force base in San Antonio.

When the planes will eventually starting flying the President, they will be less fuel efficient than this plane, because they will have more drag/weight, because they will have extra "holes" drilling through them, to accommodate the specialized communications, and anti-aircraft, and other weapons required for the new Air Force One.

The plane Trump toured in Florida, is 13 years old, but is not the lane he will be gifted during his visit to Qatar next week.

It is more fuel efficient than the planes destined to be Air Force One, due to a variety of reasons, not the least of which, is the radiation shielding the latter jets will have.

The US economy is still the best in the world, despite Trump's attempts to sink it.

Like I previously said, the 747 is now obsolete. The day production is permanently halted on any aircraft, that aircraft type is rendered obsolete as of that year.

Additionally, the Qatar government has since come forward and has denied that the aircraft in question was actually "gifted", which means some poor sucker is actually going to have to pay for an obsolete aircraft.

That is absolutely, positively is not what obsolete is.

no longer in use
