I would question that - are you reading correlation as cause?

I can understand it for Canada due to President Trump's expansionist ideas, but elsewhere many countries had been seeing rises in very conservative, even quite hard-line views, so "liberal" gains might be a reaction to those there.

As for "woke"... in what sense? I know its etymology but in the last few years it has become used so loosely and so often by all and sundry to sneer at anything the user dislikes, that it no longer means anything.

(I placed "liberal" in quote marks because I took it in its political sense, meaning Left-leaning, which is not necessarily its true meaning.)
