Of course, as usual, Trump has his history all f***ed up. World War II didn't end until September 2, 1945 when the Japanese government signed surrender documents onboard the battleship USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay.
But if he wants to designate September 2nd as World War II "Victory Day" and make it a federal holiday I'm all for that.
And while he's designating war victory days, here's another federal holiday that I'd like to see: V-E Day. That would be Victory Over England, September 3, 1783, the day the British signed a formal recognition of the United States, thus ending the Revolutionary War.
That's the war when, according to Trump, "we took over the airports."
