The original liberals (who were supported by the most brilliant economists of all time: Ludwig Von Mises, Milton Friedman, Friedrich Hayek, Ayn Rand, Murray Rothbard, etc) were laissez faire FREE MARKET CAPITALISTS.
The term "liberal" changed in the early Sixties, where it embraced socialism, communism and CLASS ENVY. Today's liberals have bat guano for brains when it comes to economics.
Conservatives believe in FREE MARKET policies, which give workers the MOST rights. Conservatives support the policies which keep inflation out, prices down, energy down, while creating a huge demand for high paid manufacturing workers. Nothing says workers rights better than MARKET DEMAND FOR THEIR SERVICES.
The Dirtiest places in America are in the rust belt North, controlled by socialist liberals and entitled unions.
To bring you up to speed with "the planet" (since apparently you got this far in life without ever looking at a GLOBE or a map of the earth in general, MOST of the earth's surface is WATER. Most of the land surface of the earth is wilderness.
