Trump Insists Wrongly Deported Man Has ‘MS-13’ Tattooed on His Knuckles

President Trump insisted in a television interview that the man his administration mistakenly sent to a Salvadoran prison has the letters and numbers “MS-13” tattooed on his knuckles.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who had been living in Maryland after entering the U.S. without authorization as a teen, has symbols tattooed on his knuckles that can be common among those without gang affiliations, including a marijuana leaf, skull, cross and a smiley face with X’s for eyes.

Trump posted a photo earlier in April on social media that appeared to show the tattoos on Abrego Garcia’s hand with “MS-13” digitally added above them. The White House has contended that the tattoos are affiliated with MS-13, a gang designated by the president as a foreign terrorist organization.

Recent photos of Abrego Garcia meeting with Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D., Md.) in El Salvador showed the symbols on Abrego Garcia’s hand, but not “MS-13.”

But in an interview with ABC News that aired Tuesday night, the president was adamant that Abrego Garcia’s knuckles were tattooed with the name of the gang.

“It says M-S-One-Three,” Trump said, dismissing ABC News correspondent Terry Moran’s pushback that the letters and numbers were added to the photo digitally.

The White House didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

In the interview, Trump insisted, “Do you want me to show the picture?”

After repeated attempts by Moran to move to a different subject, Trump declared: “He’s got MS-13 on his knuckles.”

Abrego Garcia has denied any gang involvement and has never been charged with a crime after living in the U.S. Abrego Garcia’s wife has challenged his deportation in court, and the Supreme Court directed the Trump administration to facilitate his return. But both the U.S. and El Salvador’s president, Nayib Bukele, have said they don’t have the authority to return Abrego Garcia.

During the interview, Trump said he could bring Abrego Garcia back if he wanted to. “If he were the gentleman that you say he is, I would do that,” Trump said. “I’m not the one making this decision.” 🤣

It is remarkable that some people do not see Trump for the danger that he is. He has no problem with lying about every aspect of a topic and ignoring the Supreme Court's rulings as well. That should set alarms off for everyone but some people do not seem to recognize the danger it poses.

@DomMan67 It's not that they don't see it. It's worse. They believe his version. Look at the MAGAs on SW.

@Northwest I've seen some of the posts but don't typically engage in it because there is no changing some people's minds or even making them think about if they would react the same way if this was being done by a different political party.

I suspect that as the pain of Trump's incompetence sets in he will lose support. There will always be true believers and nothing will change their minds but most people respond to their own discomfort and he is certainly in the process of bringing that on.

@DomMan67 He won thanks to the independent voters. His support among that group, thanks to the information out there, by 17%+. Some people signed up for reducing illegal entry into the US, but not this.

@Northwest I'm also a registered independent and always have been but I have never been a Trump supporter. The danger he posed was quite clear to me from the moment he arrived on the scene. I have been baffled on how people can overlook the nonstop lying and obvious incompetence. Not to mention the lawlessness and blatant corruption. He will give contradictory reasons for doing something and it seems people don't understand they are mutually exclusive or they simply don't care.

My view now is elections have consequences and we are getting what we deserve as a country. I hope we learn from it. A lot of damage is being done domestically and globally to learn this lesson. I truly hope we do learn.

At the 100 day mark Trump is underwater on everything in most polls. So hopefully people are figuring it out and that reflects in next years elections.

@Northwest I’d wager that over 90% of Oranges votes were directly related to immigration .
DomMan67 · 56-60, M
@AthrillatheHunt Probably but it appears many truly believe that tariffs will lower prices because Trump said they would. The number one issue going into the election was prices so it baffles the mind. When a belief defies logic such as that it seems more cult like than political.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@DomMan67 immigration was definitely the number 1 reason many people voted for Orange . It’s reflected in many polls.
DomMan67 · 56-60, M
@AthrillatheHunt Well it appears he is underwater on that now to.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@DomMan67 according to whom ? The same people who said he wouldn’t win ? Lol
DomMan67 · 56-60, M
@AthrillatheHunt According to the polls that come out weekly. His 100 day polls are the worst on record, but whether that means anything for next year remains to be seen.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@DomMan67 my point was : weren’t those the SAME polls that said he wouldn’t win ? Why do you still believe in a system that has proven to not be accurate ?
DomMan67 · 56-60, M
@AthrillatheHunt I believe saying "whether than means anything for next year remains to be seen" would imply I don't take the polls seriously but you are welcome to draw whatever conclusion you like.

@DomMan67 got it.
