Back in the 80s when I was playing officer in "her majesties Canadian Armed Forces" I was in the officers mess and had a chat with the base commander and various other high ranking officers. The conversation drifted to the not too long ago FLQ crisis and the government sending in the troops to quell domestic discord in Canada. About this time Alberta was contemplating leaving Canada and so there was a real possibility that the Canadian government would send it the troops to keep Alberta Canadian. The senior officers said that if they received such an order they would reject it. I kind of thought "Yeah right" until during the trucker's COVID convoy to Ottawa the troops were sent in and the officers refused the order. The government then brought in some foreign troops to break up the party but the CAF refused the order of the sitting PM of Canada.
There was another video that I didn't watch but the title was something like active duty soldiers are saying they're scared under Trump. That's what active duty soldiers were saying and that's because I think Trump is sending them to yemen unauthorized or it was some other place but he sent some troops unauthorized to some country.
But I didn't see the video I just know around that time Trump had sent troops unauthorized to some country and that title came out.
So I know the military is getting antsy about things happening low key.
If focused on that choice now they should resign. Military service members don’t get to choose their officers, and don’t have the option of refusing a lawful order.
