Kash Patel had FBI agents arrest Judge Hannah Dugan for allegedly obstructing immigration agents

Patel made social media post defending his actions—then deleted it.

Congresswoman Gwen Moore (Dem—WI) published this statement :

“I am aware of reports that Milwaukee Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested by the FBI this morning.

This Administration’s willingness to weaponize federal law enforcement is shocking and this arrest has all the hallmarks of overreach.

Federal law enforcement coming into a community and arresting a judge is a serious matter and would require a high legal bar. I will be following this case closely and facts will come out, however, I am very alarmed at the increasingly lawless actions of the Trump Administration, and in particular ICE, who have been defying courts and acting with disregard for the Constitution.”

From what I read, the guy was arrested outside the courthouse. So how exactly did she help him evade arrest?
@trollslayer Haven’t seen anything about that yet. My guess is that this is a huge stretch by Patel who seems really ignorant for a former prosecutor.

This guy is facing three misdemeanor charges of assault and was there for a routine hearing. This is the third person they’ve arrested from that court house.

We’ll be hearing more about this.
@trollslayer He is in custody in Juneau Wisconsin, but no word on charges, due process, etc. that I can find.

@KunsanVeteran to me it sounds like the judge told the officers to make the arrest outside of the public area, and that she took the man out of the back door to the courtroom to the private office, but the officers refused to meet her there.

If there were other similar arrests at that courthouse, perhaps she did not want her courtroom to be in the public focus.
@trollslayer I don’t know enough to speculate, but that certainly seems possible. I don’t know if they showed up with a warrant or not. There are some other legal questions I am pondering.
