If you check, DOD, USArmy, under Biden lowered standards for helicopter pilot candidates.

I’m an old USAF pilot and IMHO those lowered standards were reset to dangerously low. Flying a helicopter is every bit as challenging as flying a 747 or an F16, and the flying environment has gotten a lot more challenging since my days,

Hiring and training of air traffic controllers changed in the 1980s when 50% of air traffic controllers walked off in a wildcat strike. Failing to heed then president Reagan’s return to work directive they were fired. To fill the sudden shortage, controller training was accelerated. Even with the acceleration it took years to return to full staffing. I don’t know if that accelerated training was ever relaxed.

DOT accident investigations often list systemic failures as partly and occasionally as primarily responsible for aviation accidents. Like when crews fail to follow standard procedures or checklists it’s often a result of lax oversight and supervision.

I would have no way of knowing that. I am not privy to the records of various air traffic controllers. But I am an Independent. Not a Republican. I do support Trump.

Training standards for ATC's have NEVER been lowered. If anything since Reaguns.....they have been raised because of the sheer increase of numbers of planes in the air since the 1980's and much more sophisticated technology on them. INCREASED training and requirements is why there are not nearly enough of them.
