America’s richest gazillionaires all oppose tariffs. Who do I root for here?

Photo above - so far the leading 2028 democrat party presidential hopefuls are Newsom, Kamala, Cory Booker, and Oprah. But where do they stand on tariffs, income taxes, and the national debt? Nobody's asking, and they're not talking.

Almost everyone agrees – tariffs are bad! Especially the world's richest oligarchs. Even Elon Musk – richest man in the universe – opposes Trump’s tariffs. I guess he hasn’t been fired by the president because there’s a no-cut clause in his 2025 contract. After all, Elon DID donate $40 million to the Trump campaign last year.

Even Oprah probably opposes tariffs. But she's only worth a paltry $5 billion, and is forced to spend her days sulking in a $50 million mansion modelled after the Versailles palace. Oprah has been doing better recently, though. She just bought 900 acres on Maui, which is probably half the entire island. Did Ms. Winfrey get "fire sale" prices after the Maui inferno? You go, girl!

Wait, this tariff fight gets even MORE complicated. Autoworkers and other union members now accuse Democrats of opposing tariffs because . . . “they just want cheap slave labor”. (see 2nd link below). Yeah, my head is spinning too. Hey guys . . . is this any way to thank Biden, the president who walked the picket lines with you? He did it specifically to win votes in the 2022 midterm elections. Where's your loyalty?

This might be a debate with no obvious good guys. I have to pick between billionaires who want tariffs, and politicians who want cheap slave labor? Can’t we frame the issues a little less stridently?

Yesterday Trump “paused” his tariffs for 90 days. and the stock market indexes soared in never-before-seen single day gains. Proving again that Wall Street is run by evil morons. The threat to Americans' living standards is NOT only which items in your Amazon shopping cart get hit with a tariff. It’s having our nation's economy held captive to an incoherent, stream-of-consciousness economic policy.

Let’s be clear . . . by incoherent I am NOT just talking about tariffs that go from 15% to 25% to 104% and then back to zero in week. That’s obviously demented. But so is having $37 trillion in national debt. $350,000 for each American family. How are we supposed to pay our share? Democrats have two plans to pick from: Don’t pay any attention to the national debt at all, and let inflation run rampant. Or double US corporate taxes, which will drive up the cost of consumer purchases in a manner eerily similar to Trump’s tariffs. You were warned - I told you this debate would get worse. (the correct answer is "none of the above")

Of course, these topics didn't come up in the actual 2024 presidential debates. Not a single question along the lines of:

1 – Do you plan to impose double digit tariffs on everything Americans buy?

2 – Do you plan to pile huge new taxes on corporations, driving even more jobs offshore, and raising the cost of any stuff still made here?

3 – Do you plan to keep spending twice as much as the government collects in taxes each year? Who's going to lend us the money?

The media is certainly aware of these issues, but didn't bother to include them on the debate agenda. Perhaps they have so little respect for voters they think we won’t understand or care. They keep it simple to stuff we DO understand: forgiving all student loans; reimposing roe v. wade; doubling the government rebates on (American made) electric vehicles.

How can we fix this? The GOP presidential primaries have resulted in Trump – 3 times in a row. A more bizarre outcome than anyone could imagine. Except for the democrat primaries, which resulted in Biden – a cognitively impaired octogenarian – twice in a row. Followed by Kamala Harris who became the emergency candidate by “acclimation” and was excused from having to compete against any other democrats or needing to win a single primary.

All of this is lose-lose for ordinary Americans like you and me. Huge government debt. Unaffordable mortgage rates. Inflation. Our 401Ks diving and soaring by thousands of dollars on a daily basis.

Don’t tell me to wait for 2028 to see if this gets fixed. I don’t know if we can survive that long. In any case, a 2028 battle royale involving Kamala, Newsom, Trump3, Vance, Cory Booker, Kanye and Oprah isn’t going to return our nation to sanity. It will simply get good TV ratings, and a whole lot of online clicks and likes.

I’m just sayin’ . . .

The only answer to Americas debt is to stop importing oil. Revert to producing oil from thc derived from agricultural hemp crops. That alone will fix this. 300 barrells an acre prior to 1938 when the hemp industry was made illegal.

The Marihuana Tax Act of 1937.

Doing that only would lower gas prices so much and reduce the price of everything else. Fixing the trade deficit and making tarriffs unneccessary.
The declaration and orginal constitution are written on hemp paper from that species of hemp.
