Senate GOP leader Thune strongly urges Hegseth and others to "own" their mistakes amid Signal chat fallout
CNN reports:
Senate Majority Leader John Thune on Wednesday called on Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and other top Trump officials to “own” their mistakes related to Signal group chat revelations so that they are not repeated.
“The important thing here is these guys, they made a mistake, they know it. They should own it and fix it so that never happens again,” he said.
The Republican leader did not directly answer whether he thought Hegseth was being honest when he denied sharing war plans in the Signal group.
Asked by CNN if he has confidence in Hegseth, Thune again did not directly answer and pointed to the success of the underlying mission.
“The execution of the strike looks like pretty flawless,” he said before again urging the officials to come clean.
“This is something they need to own up to and fix and ensure that it doesn’t happen again,” he reiterated.
My Commentary:
Yes the execution of the strikes looked pretty flawless. That’s on the pilots and others who actually carried out the strikes. Absolutely no thanks to the bumbling incompetent POTUS and his misadministration of misfits!
Thune does NOT address the possible contamination of the SIPRnet as Hegseth clearly brought information from the SIPRnet across to the NIPRnet which is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN and may very well have crossed over the two networks in the other direction as well.
What’s more: have their cellphones been impounded? Are their Security Clearances revoked or at least being reviewed? Are they being asked to resign? Are they being completely retrained on all aspects of CLASSIFIED DATA?
IF NOT, WHY NOT?
Has this or other such haphazard operations occurred before in this practically brand new and CLEARLY INCOMPETENT MISADMINISTRATION?
When was the POTUS notified? By whom?
At the very least, these fools should be given the choice: RESIGN OR BE FIRED!
MUSKRAT was so bold about firing federal employees, give him that task if tRUMPS doesn’t have the male reproductive equipment to do it!
