Nothing like a good ol’ bipartisan betrayal to keep the machine running

Schumer. Backing a Republican spending bill. Just caving, like always.

Imagine playing chess but only moving your pawns one square at a time while your opponent is flipping the whole damn board over, setting the pieces on fire, and replacing the rulebook with crayon scribbles. THAT is what’s happening.

Meanwhile, Republicans are out here speed-running villain arcs, stacking the courts, rewriting laws, and turning the country into a dystopian theme park. Democrats playing the same game as the Republicans. They’re all in bed with the same corporate interests, pretending to be on different sides.

I just don’t have the patience for these games anymore.

In Europe, one of the reasons why authoritarian regimes have come to power (recently and historically) is that centrist politicians use centrist tactics to deal with rightwing extremists.

'Be nice and stick to the rules and heaven will reward us.' Only they dont. Decorum and president are overrated and your chess analogy is perfect

Schumer does have a point when he says that Musk and Trump could do some extra damage in a shutdown. This point would make a bit more sense if Schumer was doing anything to stop that. Instead, he's voting for a bill that consolidates what the regime has done.

If he won't fight over this, he'll fight over nothing and his opponents will know that better than anyone.
