Did Ontario premier D'oh Ford step in a big pile of do do?

He put a tariff on electricity being sold to The US. Trump has thus threatened to shut down Ontario's auto industry. I think Ontario needs the auto industry much more than the US needs Ontario electricity. Last time anyone looked Ontario was paying the US to take its excess electricity.

Trump is doing this to Canada.

You still support the leopard that has eaten half of your face. "But Trudeau..."

@Burnley123 Trump did nothing but threaten. The only nation that has imposed tariffs on the other is Canada. Canada has been putting tariffs on American goods for as long as I can remember. As a kid I used to drive a 'Canadian tractor with the brand name Cockshutt. It was a very good tractor. It was also built by Oliver Tractors out of the US but by painting it red instead of Green and putting the label Cockshutt on the radiator it didn't get tariffed like John Deere or Minneapolis Moline

@hippyjoe1955 It's in response to the Trump tariff threats. Everyone knows that, including yourself.

@Burnley123 The threatened tariff. You do need to know Canadian history to understand what an miserable little nation Canada is. Or as I prefer to call it the nation that refused to be. It hid behind mother England's apron until England wasn't the world power it once was and then Canad hid behind Auntie US's apron as it has let its defences fail. Canada would be hard pressed to get a squadron of fighters in the air at the moment. It is shutting down one of its big army bases in western Canada. Not that there was much army there to begin with. Every one on base is civilian and usually a woman. I was shocked one day as I drove by the base to see 20 men with backpacks wearing uniforms heading out on some sort of route march.

@hippyjoe1955 Do you want to be the 51st state?

Sounds like it.

@Burnley123 What I would love to be is in a nation that takes into account all of its regions and lets people live their lives as they see fit. Canada fails on both those counts as Alberta has been and continues to be shut down and held back both economically and socially because other more populous regions believe that only they are true Canada. I suspect you would have to live here to know what I am talking about. But in a nutshell Canada is a tiny little strip of land along the St Laurence River and along the northern shores of the Great Lakes. Anything outside that small area is the realms to be ruled over and used to the advantage of true Canada. There is an old cartoon over 100 years old that shows a map of Canada with a huge cow spanning across it. The cow is being fed by the areas to the west, is being milked by the region in the middle and is crapping on those in the east. It is true. That little strip of land where the milk flows freely runs Canada.

@Burnley123 here is a slightly more politically correct picture of that old cartoon
