It looks to me like there was a lot of grade-A dumb shit said during the Trump-Zelensky meeting

Keep in mind, the purpose of the trip was to sign an agreement between both parties. All everyone had to do was smile for the cameras, and maybe negotiate some more in the background, though really all the negotiation should have been completed prior to Zelensky arriving.

Here's the bits that look really dumb to me:
Zelensky to Vance: "Have you been to Ukraine?"
Zelensky already knows Vance has not, so this is said purely to embarrass, and unfairly so given Vance wasnt an official until two months ago. Even more ridiculous, if Vance is ignorant about what is happening in Ukraine, how can the agreement be ready?

Vance to Zelensky: "You run propoganda tours". There was no way it wasn't going to be as argument at this point.

Zelensky: "You just don't feel it because you have a nice big ocean, but you'll feel it in future". This is just a straight up insulting "I know better than you, even what is going to happen to your country"

Trump to Zelensky: "You are gambling with world war three". Everyone already knows this, but Trump just gave away the US position. They will not challenge Putin because the risk is too high.

Everyone in this meeting came out looking like amateurs

It all feels super juvenile

@caPnAhab yeah really nuts. Any and all of them should have said "We have different points of view, that's why we're negotiating. Let's discuss this further outside of this press conference."

Even a middle manager in a department store would have said that
It's time for women to run the world. Men are too emotional.

tell me how Russia can't defeat a country that much smaller than it? even with improved firepower it should have been easy
plungesponge · 41-45, M
@pancakeslam that I'm not sure about. Russia has not used significant airpower or advanced armor, seemingly preferring to send conscripts and mercenaries. I heard there is a fear that doing so would invite a united NATO response, give away Russian capability or divert from the defence of the mainland, but I'm not sure any of those reasons explain it

@plungesponge it's like they're fighting with one hand tied behind their back
