Was the EU created to screw the US?

I believe the EU was created to screw Europe.

Spain mostly developed because of the EU though. You can make an argument for other countries perhaps that were already advanced, but Spain benefited a lot.

@SaoirsePrend We benefited in the short term, but our industry was dismantled, now our agriculture is being ruined by the massive mports from Morocco and Mercosur countries, and we have zero sovereignty.
The biggest development in Spain happened in the 1960s and 1970s.
