We all feel threatened by opposing viewpoints that is allowed in a free society. The last time at the store, a man in woman's clothing was the cashier checking out my groceries. It threw me for a loop, and it was uncomfortable for me to interact with him. I just stuffed it. The law allows him to come on like a woman in a public space. Supporters of Project 2025 have a right to their viewpoints also. Don't you agree? If not, then someone needs to protest the store and have that guy taken off the check out station.


Advanced equality? Allowing men to parade around in public as women is advancement? We are not wired up to deal with gender equality to the point of cognitive confusion. Do you people think it is fun?

@SW-User His accusation is wildly exaggerrated. "People" are not being arrested for praying outside abortion clinics. I think he is referring to one incident.

Expressing an opinion is one thing. Doing so in a way that intimidates others, is another.

Freedom of expression and other rights are precious, but so are responsibilites, and to overturn the latter overturns the former.

Where he could have a point is the growing rise of hard-line political ideologies; and of the growing miasma of "misinformation" (including downright lies), bullying, manipulation and othewr wrongs on [anti]social-media.

As for "woke"... does any one know its real origin? Perhaps those who throw the word around as blunt sneer do not. It is a slang version of "awake" or "woken" - to injustice and oppression.

The era is not really bygone, is it? All that's happened is that the pressures have changed - or expanded. Prejudice is still alive and well, sadly.

It may as well be illegal in woke Britain. There are caveats to the law, meaning the police can arrest anyone praying outside the horrible UK baby-killing clinics. Where is the wild exaggeration?

@SW-User Being rude to anyone who questions you, rather proves my point. I don't know why those particular protestors were arrested but it's very likely the complainants were staff or patients who felt intimidated by mere strangers trying to interfere with their own, very difficult decision.

Such people? This may well be true but such people are not all the people who follow the norm of society. I am such people also when I exceed the speed limit on a highway and weave in and out changing lanes at will to the annoyance of other road users. Should I be stopped by the police and thrown into jail. Yes.


Prejudice is going to be reinforced as AI takes over the organization of society. Anomalies will be weeded out to enhance speed and efficiency for all.

@SW-User I don't assume. I do not know their motives; but if I were a patient I would not want some stranger trying to "pray" for me, and in such a sensitive situation may even find it intimidating. Or would my feelings not matter? If he or she wants to pray for me, let 'em do so at home or in chapel.

AI: A good point! Frightening prospect, isn't it? But if AI takes over it is because people have let it, possibly for their own purposes not common good.
