Trans Pilot Breaks Silence After Being Falsely Named In Washington Crash

Trans Pilot Breaks Silence After Being Falsely Named In Washington Crash
Jo Ellis is a transgender UH60 Black Hawk helicopter pilot and has been serving the Virginia National Guard for 15 years.

Jo Ellis, a transgender helicopter pilot, has shared a “proof of life” video after she was falsely identified as the pilot of the Black Hawk helicopter that collided with American Airlines' passenger jet in Washington, US, on Wednesday, leaving 67 people dead.

Sharing a video on Facebook, Jo Ellis can be heard saying, “Interesting morning. This is Jo Ellis. I am a Black Hawk helicopter pilot with the Virginia National Guard for 15 years. I understand some people have associated me with a crash in DC and that is false.”

Jo Ellis added it was insulting to the families of victims “to try to tie this to some sort of political agenda. They don't deserve that. I don't deserve this. And I hope you all know that I am alive and well.”

Sharing the video on Facebook, Jo Ellis wrote, “Proof of life and statement.”

Jo Ellis has also shared a screenshot of tweets on X (formerly Twitter) that have linked the pilot to the deadly crash. In the post, a user stated that they “wouldn't be surprised” if “the pilot was trans” while replying to another post claiming Jo Ellis “has been making radicalised anti-Trump statements on socials." The other person later deleted the post and even published an apology.

Along with the screenshot on Facebook, Jo Ellis said, “Some craziness has happened on the internet and I'm being named as one of the pilots of the DC crash. Please report any accounts or posts you see. It's insulting to the victims and families of those lost and they deserve better than this BS from the bots and trolls of the internet.”

That tragic incident IMO had nothing to do with anyone’s race, religious belief or sexual orientation. Possible human failure to follow rules, regulations and procedures may well have been responsible along with other factors not related to sexual
orientation. race or religious beliefs.
. If you are qualified Asked on merit and ability to do a particular job and are assigned that duty, that is all that matters. The key word is “ qualified” as anyone else holding that position and doing that job.

@soar2newhighs But Trump immediately said that DEI is at fault. Isn't that true?

@Northwest Trumps issue with DEI hires is when someone unqualified gets a position because of skin color, gender, trans status or whatever. If a qualified pilot happens to be trans, that is not a person he’s concerned with.

We don’t know what the back room talk was that he was privvy to, but lots of speculation at first was that one of the controllers may have been unqualified. People looking into the crash know lots they don’t share details of and that theory seems to have been dumped.
@Northwest Yes , I listened to his remarks. I was not happy that he raised the issue during his remarks. As far as I’m concerned his doing that was a low point for him. I did not agree with him saying what he did regarding DEI.

@soar2newhighs once the investigations are concluded, we will find out whether the fault was human, equipment or a combination. I hope it wasn’t a situation where an unqualified DEI hire gave pilots bad guidance.
@soar2newhighs An of course you automatically assume anyone who doesn't conform to conservative social norms is not qualified.
@soar2newhighs And nevermind that there is zero evidence that the military appointed anyone based on DEI cliches.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow We don’t know what the evidence is, with the exception of a very limited number of people. When public speculate.
@soar2newhighs Actually we do on your DEI conspiracies.

The actual facts are that the military has since it's founding discriminated against anyone not a right wing white man.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow My DEI conspiracies? Are you serious? I never posted or said the accident was the result of DEI.
You got issues with the U.S. military and what they do and don’t do is something you need to take up with the U.S. DOD.
Are you a U.S. veteran? We have had the honor of having Canadians serving in our military and are veterans of the U.S. military.
@soar2newhighs Yes. It is the next CRT, or "cultrual Marxism" boogeyman.

You certainly implied it by implying that the military assigns people by quota and not qualifications in the first place based on zero evidence.

Facts are not dependent on whether I am a vet or not. But it is an excuse for you to change the subject.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow First, I never said DEI caused the collision.
Where did I IMPLY the military assigned people by quota. And if you think I did then tell me what quotas I implied. On the issue of QUOTAS, each of the military branches (U.S.) do have quotas and I believe it is on a monthly basis as to the numbers of people each branch is expected to meet for recruitment . And obviously you are ignorant of the military requirements for enlistment in the area of qualifications. And that is the U.S. military.
And CRT in the U.S. military is not anything but divisive. But I don’t think you go on facts but rather on emotions and possibly your socialist views and beliefs and your knowledge of the U.S. military is quite limited.
