Part of me wants to go out and protest the fall of my country but part of me thinks it's a fools errand I only want to do so I can say that I did it

So that in 30 years when we're all huddled around the smoldering ruins of our country, I can say that I tried to do something instead of just sitting around and watching it happen.

Sometimes I think that all the high ideals in the world are worth nothing if you're not willing to lay down your life for them. But I am not really willing to do that.

You should follow your convictions

@Fungirlmmm I have no conviction left inside of me. I do not know how to feel anymore.

@BlueVeins That makes me sad. I hate to sound like your mother, but is there someone you can talk to? There is no shame in seeking help and it sounds like you are empty.

@Fungirlmmm You're very sweet. Honestly I don't think talking about it will help all that much, and the people I would typically talk to kinda have the same problem but worse. IDK. I'm just overwhelmed right now, I'll probably feel more normal about this in a couple of weeks.
