Something hit the jet in mid-air.

UPDATE:

The passenger jet from Wichita to Reagan National collided in mid-air with a helicopter (reportedly a Black Hawk) into a huge explosion.

I've seen the video. I fear chances of survival are slim to none. 😢

NBC Washington is reporting that at least four people have been pulled to safety by rescue crews from the water.

NBC Chief Meteorologist Doug Kammerer said that at the time of the incident the water temperature in the river was around 37 degrees Fahrenheit.

Kammerer said that at that temperature someone in the water has only 15 to 20 minutes before they start suffering from hypothermia.

Sixty passengers and four crew were onboard the passenger jet. Three crew members were onboard the Army Black Hawk.
