No one should own land. No one created it.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@MrBrownstone Except people do own land. Day dreams don't matter.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@hippyjoe1955 Whom do they buy the land from?
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@MrBrownstone Israel just stole the land. People whose ancestors were living there for thousands of years were suddenly displaced by a bunch of Europeans who had absolutely no connection to the land.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@hippyjoe1955 Stole from whom?
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@MrBrownstone Do you live in a home?
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@hippyjoe1955 Not what I asked,
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@MrBrownstone I am asking if you have a home? If you do what would you think if you were suddenly removed from your home.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@hippyjoe1955 I asked you a question first. Avoiding it tells me all I need to know.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@MrBrownstone I answering you with a question. If you have a home how would you feel about someone taking it away from you.

@hippyjoe1955 That sounds like what happened in America when settlers had a 'belief' of manifest destiny and took the land from Native Americans "whose ancestors had lived here for thousands of years."
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@softspokenman You won't get any argument from me.

@hippyjoe1955 Treaties were made with Native Americans; can't Palestine do the same to end the killing of Human Beings?

hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@softspokenman Why should anyone try to steal what belongs to another?
softspokenman · M
@hippyjoe1955 Indeed, now back to my first reply.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@softspokenman What about it?
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@hippyjoe1955 My Grandmother was native American of the Cree tribe.
softspokenman · M
@hippyjoe1955 Was her native land stolen from her and her ancestors?
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@softspokenman It was taken from her tribe and her people were put on reservations. If they left that reservation they lost their status and native.

@softspokenman That is one way to put it. There is a small difference though. The Natives of North America had a territory within which they lived. They didn't have the same concept of individual ownership. The same can not be said of the Palestinians who had houses and farms etc. The Palestinians were not a nomadic people. Most native tribes were nomads. Following the herds and the seasons. Their homes were wigwams and thus were easily moved as needed. Very big difference than the house you were born in and your grandpa was born in and his grandpa was born in going back hundreds of years.
