Is Trump for All Americans?

More fascist rule for America
He rewards those who garner his favor, and he punishes those who don't.
Like any other King.

on a related non-trump note - I hope that the storms will make the county/state change their building codes (similar to what happened in Florida after some of the major hurricanes).

in San Fran they reworked the coes related to earthquakes

but maybe requiring non-asphalt shingles - replacing them with tile or metal and requiring windows to have one layer of heat resistant glass - and replacing exterior wood with stucco?

It might bring insurance companies back to the state

And while I have no love for the new prez - I can see the Feds saying "we're not going to bail you out with taxpayer money if you keep doing the same things over and over"

unlike North Carolina/Tennessee with the flooding - fire season in California is a regular thing - and it may be heading to year round threats.

@Pretzel You can work with the states to improve policy but withholding aid to blameless homeowners does nothing. Also, I feel it is more about retribution to dem states.
Pretzel · 61-69, M
@JimboSaturn yeah, can't argue that point at all. I expect a LOT of favoritism - and legal challenges.

He never was... that appears from pretty much all his speeches.
It's also kinda normal for a poppulist.
California's water policies contributed to, or at the very least severely hindered the ability to fight, the fires in California. So you're surprised money becomes the lever to drive change? I agree helping the people should come before politics .. aid should come through regardless. But federal dollars the state gets to manage water, infrastructure ? There should be some accountability for a different response.

Canada has some similar issues. How are things going fixing the causes of repeated wildfires there?? Percerptions of your government's response and effectiveness of Trudeau's leadership ??

@BrandNewMan People blame Trudeau when the stub their toe on a door frame.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
What he is trying to insure is cheap rebuilding so that it happens again and again and again.

What needs to happen is more money spending on infrastructure to prevent these fires.

Infrastructure like 100 million gallon water tanks. The size of a mobile home cubed.

Place them in strategic areas. No more wild fires because of lack of water.

One 1 million gallon tank isn't enough
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@DeWayfarer All reasonable things, but to withhold money to American homeowners who have nothing to do with policy? Also this fire was not the usual fires they experience, it was more of a one-off, a perfect storm. Maybe instead of blaming others, he can just help normal people.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@JimboSaturn his policy is to make this country to spend more.

A throwaway society is good for business. Less regulation. Cheaper houses. More profits for business.
