I put in the news today and it reminded me of the bulletins from Robocop.

You noticed that too, huh.

Since most of the conspiracy theories believed by so many now in charge are based on sci-film plots, I'm not really surprised.

The US reminds me of Robocop big time! It has sunk so far.

@JimboSaturn We are living in dystopian satire.

I'm of the opinion that 'normal' liberal politics already has too much cognitive dissidence about the climate. The Paris Agreement didn't go far enough and now it's fallen apart.

This is a global problem and species wide but all the incentives for short term profit mean companies and nations are competing with each other and the incentives are to water down climate targets.

Trumpism is the confluence of corporate greed and a nihilistic death drive. Forget tomorrow and other people, the drugs feel nice. Drill baby drill.

@Burnley123 Precisely. We as a species seem just to selfish and myoptic to do anything about climate change. It does seem satirical when patriots look like this:

@JimboSaturn
The US is actually taking gigantic steps backwards to burn more fossil fuels.

on an NPR segment they were talking to a Texan who has wind turbines on his ranch and is making a lot of money from it. Conservatives in Texas, who he supports, are fighting to stop the spread of wind power in the state because it's a threat to oil. This rancher doesn't understand why they want to stop it when its profitable, safe and clean. But he votes for them anyway because they're his party. And he voted for Trump even though Trump wants to stop wind turbines. Despite the fact that the turbines are bringing in 40% of the ranch's income. It makes no sense at all.

Look at it this way, you don't have crazy lunatics in the government for at least the next five years and you have 225 nukes in case things get hairy
