Is there a danger of the US becoming an Oligarchy?

"What is an oligarchy?

The general definition of an oligarchy is a form of government involving the rule of a few persons or families. According to National Geographic, Greek philosopher Aristotle used the term in contrast to aristocracy (the elite upper class) to describe the rule of a few for “corrupt and unjust purposes.”

It's what's been voted in, isn't it?

@FreddieUK To be fair what's been voted in is a kakistocracy. The aim is to create an oligarchy.

Fortunately only four days of that left. @22Michelle

@jackjjackson Trump's previous Presidency has him rated 39th "best" President so, as usual, you're way wrong.

Biden will be 47 only because it’s the lowest. The second Trump term will be top 15. @22Michelle

@jackjjackson And you are at least consistent. Biden is in the top 20 and Trump won't improve on his previous performance.

Let’s see what historians say when the chickens roost around 2026. @22Michelle

@jackjjackson Well we know what theh said about his previous performance as President, 39th!

We also know what historians are saying now about Biden WORST WORST WORST EVER. I was giving Bidet the benefit of the doubt 🤣😂🤣 @22Michelle

@jackjjackson And what "historians" are sayjng that? I very much doubt he's moving from ranked 19th. Certainly nowhere near 39th.
@22Michelle they don't look at how you feel about a President it's based on objective criteria. Accomplishments, effect on history, etc. So you see a very popular President like Reagan was pretty mediocre using objective criteria. Where as, Lyndon Johnson whose support was mixed and left the race because he knew he couldn't win, is among the highest rated Presidents.
Biden accomplished a lot of good things in the face of a very obstructionist opposition. The minority party can be a very serious roadblock due to 2/3 majority needed on some legislation and the Filibuster. I hope taking on monopolies continues, the decrease in childhood poverty, the tweaking of insurance regulations to get prescription prices down, getting rid of junk fees that cost us a lot of money every year, the attention to updating infrastructure just to name a few.

@JonLosAngeles66 I'm fully aware of the criteria and that they strive to be objective. Biden wasn't a great President, but he rates mid table because of the probkems he inheritated from his predecessor Trump.And that's why Trump is way down amongst the lowest rated Presidents.
We'll see what history says!
@JonLosAngeles66 right now he's ranked 14th https://ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/politics/2024/02/19/biden-14th-in-scholars--presidential-rankings--trump-last

Giving away trillions for taxpayer dollars in exchange for no benefit to taxpayers will plummet Bidet to the bottom like an elevator with a snapped cable. @JonLosAngeles66
