Trump reawakened the American spirit which was lost somewhere for past so many years.

Is this American spirit of which you speak the spirit that hates anyone different from you? Because that’s the only spirit I see awakening. It wears a mask of Stars and Stripes and puts flags on its truck.

@Elessar Hi Elessar, how's life? 👋

I'm not interested in discussing politics with Western Europeans any longer other than to bash you for not butting out.

Genuine question
Uh no, loaded question, an attempt to engage me on nonsense that you already know I don't agree with. I've been here with you many times, we will have to agree to disagree.

Your Prime Minister seems ok with Trump. Maybe take it up with her, since she is actually your elected leader...

US President-elect Donald Trump hailed Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni as a “fantastic woman” as she became the latest world leader to visit his Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida.

“This is very exciting,” he told a crowd at the residence. “I’m here with a fantastic woman, the prime minister of Italy. She’s really taken Europe by storm.”

Meloni, a member of the right-wing Brothers of Italy party, took office in October 2022 and is known to have ties to the incoming Trump administration, in particular with his ally Elon Musk.

While European powerhouses France and Germany are going through a period of rocky politics, the stability of her coalition in Italy and conservative credentials make her a natural ally for the incoming US leader.

@SumKindaMunster All good! You?

One could think I've brought up points that are hard to counter 😜

I didn't vote for her so maybe you should ask that to those who did. But I know her enough to acknowledge she's a wildcard, Putin counted on her support as well and once elected she's taken a strong anti-Russia stance, one of the strongest in the continent. The Italian electorate also, unlike the American one (as hardly over there a typically blue voter will vote red or viceversa), is very very very volatile, her party got like 4% of the votes before the last election, and the party that had the majority last time is falling to those numbers now, all in less than one election cycle.

Nothing guarantees she'll stay on top of the coalition for the foreseeable future and nothing guarantees that if she does, she won't have changed her stances in order to remain popular among the Italian electorate, especially in matters like foreign politics.

President Musk is a wildcard too, he'll be "allied" with Trump only so long as he's useful, and Musk's goals are very different than Trump electors' (see indeed that H1B situation, the first of many others to come).

@Elessar I've gotten really good at making cappucino's and lattes, thank you very much.

Putin counted on her support as well and once elected she's taken a strong anti-Russia stance, one of the strongest in the continent.

Oh is that right? So the propaganda about her was wrong huh? Go figure. Perhaps that should inspire you to recheck your many many false assertions that you believe....nah nah, who am I kidding? You do you.

Well nothing for you to do but sit back and let things happen I guess seeing how Trump has a mandate and a majority of Republicans in the House and Senate...hope you enjoy the next 4 years as much as I do!
Elessar · 26-30, M
@SumKindaMunster Are her own words and her own party's website part of the "propaganda" against her? 😜 Because that's where the (former) sympathy for Putin came out from. Putin himself clearly believed it too lol

The reality is that she's smart enough to have figured out that the tide changed in 2022, whereas her "ally" who insisted on remaining pro-Russia is laughed at and fell from a 40% of the votes at his peak to <10% 😜 American conservatives are particularly stiff, an Musk just like Meloni took advantage of it. Trump is going to be quite irrelevant if you ask me, he'll be just the mediator.

Similarly, I've read Trump's program from the P2025 site, and similarly I've seen Trump's coup live while it was happening, when the media was still confused on how to call it. All I'll say is that I'm glad I'm comfortably far from the shìtshow.
Enjoy Musk's presidency I guess.

Yes propaganda can come from one's own party. LOL.

Trump is going to be quite irrelevant if you ask me, he'll be just the mediator.

Nobody asked you bro.

Anything else?
Elessar · 26-30, M
@SumKindaMunster I'm aware, but that's usually propaganda in favor of the candidate, not against the candidate. Let me understand:
So the propaganda about her was wrong huh? Go figure. Perhaps that should inspire you to recheck your many many false assertions that you believe...
You think I should get my information about her.. from a source that isn't her, in order not to be propagandized? 😂

You've mentioned my prime minister and I've answered. Simply enough.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Elessar
You think I should get my information about her.. from a source that isn't her, in order not to be propagandized?

What?

Here is what I said:

Oh is that right? So the propaganda about her was wrong huh? Go figure. Perhaps that should inspire you to recheck your many many false assertions that you believe....nah nah, who am I kidding? You do you.

I'm cheekily suggesting perhaps some of the things you have chosen to believe were because of propaganda, and perhaps you should take this time, right here, right now, while you have been proven wrong about so many things, to re-evaluate what you believe.

Can't state it any more simply than that.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@SumKindaMunster And I'm saying that those things I "believed" (actually not even "believed", just acknowledged) came directly from her mouth.

So you're suggesting that I should take the lesson here not to base my opinion on politicians on the things they say? 😂 Then why you believe in what Trump says?
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Elessar ...and this is why I don't take you seriously anymore...anything to keep the argument going....

Not repeating myself.

Advice is like a gift basket you place on someones doorstep. If they accept it, great, if not, its their loss and nothing further you can do....
Elessar · 26-30, M
@SumKindaMunster You blame the fact she did the stereotypical Italian side switch on me having been "propagandized", I point out that what I acknowledged came from her own mouth, and the fact that very same mouth now says the opposite to what she said isn't me "being proven wrong", so your reaction is "I don't want to talk to you anymore". Ok...
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Elessar You're like Bohemian Boo now. Desperately gaslighting and purposefully misinterpreting what I say so you can take offense and try to re-engage me on your nonsense.

You used to be better than that. Time was you didn't need to act like an insincere turd to try to continue the argument. It flowed naturally because you didn't act like that, you were sincere and responded relevantly.
