Trump and Elon are doing what they do best: attacking minorities and those vulnerable.
Karen Bass, the mayor of Los Angeles, is a Black Hispanic woman, and it is precisely because of her identity that she is being unfairly attacked by people like Trump and Elon Musk. This isn't the first time Trump and Elon has attacked minorities in leadership. We have seen, several times, both Trump and Musk question the competence of minorities. These attacks are aimed at undermining the leadership of minorities based on skin color and heritage.
Bass, like every other mayor of Los Angeles before her, has faced the enormous challenge of managing wildfires. It is a problem that has plagued the region for centuries. The wildfire issue is beyond the control of any single individual, let alone a local leader. For anyone to blame this fire on Karen Bass is just disgusting and despicable.
@ididntknow Facts tell a different story. There is absolutely nothing Karen Bass could have done to prevent these fires. This region of Calfornia has faced wildfires for hundreds of years, if not thousands. But let’s talk about the fire chief for a moment. Funny how no one seems to be going after her. Why’s that? Oh right, because she’s a White woman. So what exactly was Karen Bass supposed to do?
Per the previous post:
“She’s unqualified,” racist
“cut the fire budget” false,
and didn’t care that the hydrants had no water false
@nudistsueaz Yes, that's true and constituents should vote wisely. In this case, there's nothing she could have done aside from putting on firefighter gear and grabbing a hose.
She sent $17 million worth of firefighter equipment to Ukraine, drained water reserves, and refused to let water be pumped down from up north, WHILE she was in Uganda, a disaster that just surpasses $50 billion in damages, and 24 deaths.
