If Trump Moves to Take Greenland by Force, He Should Impeached and Sent to the Hague.

With luck, he could share the dock with Vladimir Putin for war crimes.

I don't get that Greenland thing. It's incredible. It's frightening. Intimidating.
I don't know what else to say 😕

Could you please do this again a.s.a.p.?
I think the whole Greenland Panama Canada thing is the conman's trick to distract from his soon-to-be-broken campaign promises.

Tяump promised lower grocery & gas prices, millions more deportations, and tariffs that would reduce the deficit. He can't deliver, so he's trying to distract.

Look, SQUIRREL!!

Yes, I just don’t see how Trump starting unprovoked or unjustified attacks on peaceful nations is going to be beneficial at all to the Senate, House or even SCOTUS.

He just wants to steal from other people to increase his small wealth
The bully is back

Who'll impeach him, the handpicked yes-men that constitute the majority in his party?
beckyromero · 36-40, F
@Elessar

Third time's the charm!

Dems will have back the House by the mid-terms (if not sooner). An impeachment vote would succeed by at-least a party line vote.

The Senate will still need 67 to convict. Right now we can count on 50 (the current 45 Democrats, the current two independents and Republicans Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins or her Democrat replacement at the mid-terms, and Mitch McConnell).

There will be an special election in Nov. 2026 to replace J.D. Vance's successor. S/he might end up being a Democrat and that makes 51.

That leaves 16 more needed.

Who else is up for re-election in 2026?

Alaska
Dan Sullivan won with only 53.9%.

Iowa
Joni Ernst won with only 51.8%.

Kansas
Roger Marshall won with only 53.2%.

North Carolina
Thom Tillis won with only 48.7%.

South Carolina
Lindsey Graham won with only 54.4%.

Texas
John Cornyn won with only 53.5%.

in a disastrous GOP mid-term, those seats could flip.

That brings it down to 10.

Ted Cruz (TX)
Deb Fischer (NE)
Chuck Grassley (IA)
Josh Hawley (MO)
James Lankford (OK)
Mike Lee (UT)

Of the Republicans named, none owe their allegiance to Trump. All except Marshall were elected to the Senate before Trump's first term. Marshall was elected in 2020, the year voters threw Trump out of the White House.

The last 10 should be able to convince 4 more.

Remember, only Congress can declare war.

And by starting a war with a NATO ally, Trump might also be impeached on charges of treason.

@beckyromero 2026 could be well beyond the deadline, I'm betting he'll get into a speedrun to implement the nastiest stuff as soon as possible.

About congress needed to start war, you're under the assumption that written rules and lines draw in paper will keep him restrained when he controls 2/3 (and nearly 3/3) of the branches of govt. He just needs to command a single act of war, have a handful of loyalists in the military that'll execute it, and the response will be the casus belli that Congress and the public needed. Look at Russia's dumb excuses for invading Ukraine, it'll be the same playbook.
