Badly written redundancy of current law.
Askeladd · 31-35, M
@Askeladd sex offenders currently cannot get immigration status. It's a fact.

@JonLosAngeles66 You’re dense.
@Askeladd it's easily looked up. "Immigration and Nationality Act
The Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) states that people convicted of a "crime involving moral turpitude" (CIMT) are inadmissible to the US. Sex crimes are generally considered CIMTs."

"Removal proceedings
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will send a Notice to Appear to anyone convicted of a sex crime, which begins the removal process.
Deportation
Depending on immigration status, a sex crime conviction can lead to deportation and a permanent ban from reentering the US.
Barred from citizenship
Even if a person avoids deportation, they may be barred from becoming a US citizen.
Loss of temporary status
Non-citizens with temporary status, such as a nonimmigrant visa, may lose that status and face removal proceedings.
Removal regardless of crime
Non-citizens without legal status are subject to removal regardless of whether they commit a crime. "

@JonLosAngeles66 You think we are speaking of people that entered into the country legally?
@Askeladd I guess I expected you to read it. I'm not going to argue. Believe what you're told.

@JonLosAngeles66 You edited it after I responded. How can I read what wasn’t there? Nonetheless, how is passing this, which further enhances public safety and closes legal loopholes redundant?

@Askeladd it added xenophobic language to existing laws to stir up scapegoating immigrants for demagogues to fear monger votes and money from the public
Askeladd · 31-35, M
@JonLosAngeles66 lmao yeah, I will just relay your own words back to you. Believe what you’re told.
@Askeladd what did it add to existing law? Besides incendiary language?
Askeladd · 31-35, M
@JonLosAngeles66 You can read it instead of making stuff up.
@Askeladd got my answer
Askeladd · 31-35, M
@JonLosAngeles66 I’m sure you did. I welcome you to post a single line of xenophobic language it added. We both know you can’t.
