Yes.
In Quebec We had the October crisis back in the 1960’s to the 1970s. The FLQ murdered Pierre LaPorte and kidnapped UK diplomat James Cross. They murdered several other people and made over 150 attacks including bombings around Montreal
They wanted to get rid of the English colonial oppression in Quebec.
It put the city of Montreal in a lot of unrest for several years. We had soldiers with guns, patrolling our streets and on our sidewalks.
It’s the main reason my parents and many other Anglophones left Quebec in the 1970’s
We were at a restaurant down near Chinatown downtown Montreal with my dad’s work party. Well, it was a work dinner and some people brought their families. The police came in and said that a 7 PM curfew had been imposed and everyone had to leave right away and go home and stay in their homes for the night. They started bombing the streets and my parents ran out of there with us went home. That was the last straw for my mother and years after that that we left Quebec and moved to Ontario.

@Jenny1234 as assassinations go, even those aren't great examples. Most of the deaths were acts of terror; not assassinations. And while Cross and LaPorte were targeted, it's not clear that it was intended that either die

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP but it happened. The FLQ were very dangerous. The Canadian government considered them to be a terrorist group

Pierre LaPorte was killed by the FLQ in the 70s.
Before that I think the only one I know of is Thomas D'arcy McGee.

I've heard of Darcy McGee, I think is from the 19c, but I don't think I ever heard of him until I moved into this area.
