This video is a perfect explanation why Trump won, who Brexit won, why Le Pen has high chances to win next year. The preaching attitude of 'I know better than you' moral superiority and elitism of the guy talking has made, and is making more people angry.

You have a point. The video is extremely patronising; I know you are smart and I understand your concerns etc.
The video does make logical sense and it will be shared by liberals. Its the method of persuasion which is ridiculous. A famous and affluent liberal TV anchor in a suit saying that he understands the concerns of people better than them. The video is quite literally in the style of an adult talking to a child. It will convert zero Trump supporters.

@Burnley123: It is something that I find irritating about certain liberals, the patronising attitude and the lack of self-criticism. I have the feeling that self-criticism on one side makes the intelligent people on the other side be self-critical too.

@Burnley123: Olbermann's message resonated with me. I didn't find it patronizing at all. Trump supporters are in denial that Trump isn't well. Olbermann isn't trying to convert them, there is nothing that can convert a Trump supporter, not even truth nor logic. He's encouraging them to acknowledge the fact we have a mentally unstable President.
S, what is your perception of me now? Well, lo and behold, color me elitist. 😏

@RootinTootinHighFalutin: Please understand I think Olbermann is not wrong and there are some good things in his video. It will resonate with you and I but will it resonate with Trump supporters?
Imagine if the Democrats had a President Elect who was a bit of a 'character'. And imagine if American Conservatives had a video series called 'the resistance' and the videos started with a long preamble from a former Fox News Anchor about how smart you are and the things you have in common with them. This is hardly likely to convince someone if the points made are true.
I don't think you are elitist at all, we are just disagreeing on a method of political persuasion. Is Olberman elitist? He doesn't intend to be but he would come across like that to Trump supporters; much like if Meagan Kelly did a monologue about how smart you are and how much she has in common with you as a fellow liberty loving woman. And that by the way Bernie Sanders would be bad for all Americans and her opinion is non-partisan. Even if the message had some elements of truth would it work on liberals?
Speaking of which, I think Senator Sanders is great at persuading people:

I hope I haven't offended you. I like you and I'll always be polite but I'll disagree with friends as well as enemies if I think a certain way. Its just the way I am. ;-)

@Burnley123: Haha!! Are you trying to get rid of me? It didn't work! I'm still stalking you.
Seriously, I enjoy a respectful debate. The only problem I foresee with our debates is I'm always right, you're always wrong. Other than that, it's all good. 😘

@Burnley123: Keith Olberman is famous, but he is not affluent. He always makes good points, but he's also obnoxious, and in your face. He's been fired from so many jobs, including msnbc, for being too "preachy" and insulting.
As a political reporter, there's a line you don't cross, to make sure that your guests will come back. This is why reporters like Chuck Todd, will not call Kellyanne Conway, an outright liar, even when she's lying to his face, because he wants her to come back.
Olberman, did not do that. This is why he is now reporting for ESPN, a sports, rather than a news channel. This video is not done on his network's behalf.
And I don't believe this will convert a single Trump supporter. So, it's net net, no-op.
For example, Kellyanne Conway, this morning, responding to questions about Trump's early morning tweets, attacking Meryl Streep, said that we should ignore what Trump says, and look into his heart, and what he really means. Huh? This is what is expected from all Trump's supporters.
I don't mean to paint Trump's supporters with a single wide brush, but the same applies for his single-issue supporters. For instance, the "Christians" who voted for him, despite his vulgar attitude, and his wife's nude layouts (aboard his place), did it because they know he will not veto an anti-abortion bill, if Congress approves it. Same deal for those with the 'refugees are evil' single-issue voters. He can be grabbing pussies, on 5th Ave, and no one will care (to mock one of his own statements).

@Northwest: You make good points and thanks for the info. All that makes sense but the video does come across as patronizing. he may be a good guy but this will not convince Trump supporters, as we know.
