TRILLION Dollar Defense Budget Needed NOW.

U.S. would run out of missiles within days in war with China.

The U.S. would run out of missiles within days if war breaks out with China, a House committee has found.

American supplies of long-range anti-ship missiles will run dry within three to seven days if China invades Taiwan, according to a wargame simulation conducted by the House select committee on China.

Within a month, the U.S. would run out of long-range cruise missiles. Meanwhile, Taiwan’s own stockpiles of mid-range anti-ship missiles would be spent within a week of fighting.

Now will Trump cut that spending or not? That is a serious question. Traditionally most Republicans would increase the military spending.

Yet he thinks he is friends with China and Russia.

He'd rather give tax cuts to his billionaire friends.

@beckyromero yeah, let's see how big a tax cut he gives Putin and Xi.

They are both billionaires. As well as his friends.

@beckyromero And pocket the money from his tariffs.

Much of the money we taxpayers fork over to the defense establishment is stolen by corrupt defense contractors. They drastically over charge. In recent audits of defense spending billions of dollars are unaccounted for.

As to war with China I don't buy it. Both the U.S. and China have large arsenals of nuclear weapons. A war would mean mutually assured destruction for both sides (and the entire planet would be a causality too.)

China may (1) make a bet that we will take a bolt out of the blue first-strike hit to Guam or naval ships and allow a fait accompli if they invade Taiwan. That would be a bad bet on their part. Or (2) launch an invasion of Taiwan without attacking U.S. assets and wait to see what we would do, risking the success of their invasion.

A billion here, a billion there. Pretty soon we'd be talking real money.

Is there some waste and some corruption? Of course. And should there be investigations when there are? Absolutely.

But we're already approaching an $800 billion dollar/year defense budget. A few billion here and there isn't going to save much.

Thanks to the dims Trump has his work cut out for him. Watching how he masterfully handles this mess will be fascinating.
