@VeronicaJane since the FBI said there was no insurrection, what crimes specifically were they guilty of?

@joe438 oh IDK, trespassing, assault, malicious damage come to mind. Then again the rioters that have been found guilty and sentenced likely may have some other charges to add....

@VeronicaJane the little video that has been released mostly showed the police escorting the crowd quietly through the hallways. The guy who picked up the podium shouldn’t have done that, and the guys wearing the FBI earpieces shouldn’t have been inciting the crowd. So yes, the few who damaged stuff should pay for it but is moving around a podium worth years in jail? I don’t know about that.

@joe438 the capitol police/FBI inciting the crowds? donald did that enough all by himself.... Peacefully? What about the capitol police who were assaulted and injured?

@VeronicaJane People who failed to protest peacefully (as Trump reminded them to) need to be responsible for what they did. Right after it happened, some video of the crowd was released and several of the agitators had the same covert earpieces the FBI guys use - suggesting that at least some of the agitators were pretty high tech for randoms. The crowd was out of control and it was certainly a riot, but since it was declared to not be an insurrection.

@joe438 good question - did the proud boys, or whoever have coordinated effort and standard stealthy earpieces?

@VeronicaJane There were discussion in the media at the time and all of the investigations got quiet. It seems unlikely it was the proud boys but i guess we won't know until more of the footage is released and people can do facial identification.
