Boston spends $1 billion on illegal immigrants annually. Welcome to your $300 a night hotel room?

Photo above - Migrants in Boston are being housed in $300 per night hotel rooms. Here they await their next meal, which the state also pays for at $64 per person.

I get the impression at least SOME blue states are secretly cheering the immigration restrictions that will take place in January. Boston might be one of those places. In Massachusetts Kamala Harris got almost twice as many votes as Trump. But Boston can’t afford to keep spending $1 billion (with a B) annually on migrants. See link below.

Even Massachusetts’ governor admits the state is in crisis. She has pleaded with illegal immigrants to “stop coming”. She has offered them free plane tickets to leave. The governor is also paying upwards of $300 a night for hotels for the ones who keep coming.

Which do you think is more likely to happen: Migrants grab a free plane ticket to Gary, Indiana? Or stay in their $300 a night Boston hotel, with free food? This isn’t a trick question.

I’d intensify my snark and point out that Massachusetts already has a huge problem with homelessness among US citizens. But $300 a night hotels are also NOT the solution to the crisis with affordable housing, fentanyl addiction, and mental illness.

According to the report, there are more than 15,000 migrants getting public assistance in Boston. That's $67,000 per migrant – food, clothing and shelter. Are there really 15,000 migrants in Boston? Who knows? America can’t even decide whether the number of illegal immigrants since inauguration day was 8 million, 10 million or 15 million.

I don’t want to see thousands of illegal immigrants dumped on the street, to live under bridges and launch a wave of street crime. This is already a huge problem with the “Tren de Aragua” Venezuelan gang in a half dozen other cities. Certain urban districts are now “no go” zones for police. Like Muslim barrios in Paris.

It’s unlikely that illegal immigrants from Latin America are going to attack Jewish Americans at soccer games. That seems to be Europe's thing, with Muslim immigrants. But what if there’s a miracle in 2026, and Team USA men’s soccer eliminates Venezuela, Brazil, or Mexico during the first world cup round? Don’t laugh . . . it could happen.

I’m just saying.

Sanctuary State Told To Cut Spending On Hotel Stays For Migrants As Costs Expected To Hit $1 Billion

It is simply wrong for governors in Florida and Texas to play games with undocumented immigrants, not to mention inhumane.

The costs for border security and undocumented immigration needs to be treated as a national expense - and certain cities or states shouldn't shoulder the cost alone.

Doves in Massachusetts or California who'd like to see the defense budget cut don't get a reduction on their income taxes. Minnesotans don't get to say they don't want their tax dollars funding hurricane disaster relief in Florida.

Nor should red states get to shuffle off undocumented immigrants to Boston, New York or D.C.

@LamontCranston

Should we "deport" to red states all the criminals who came from those states and commit crimes in Illinois and let Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and others bear the consequences of releasing them on those state's streets?
SusanInFlorida · 31-35, F
@beckyromero i agree that it's wrong for texas to bus/fly migrants to NYC and Boston.

What the mayor of boston is doing instead - simply OFFERING free ticket to all the migrants to leave - is a shining example of morality, no?
@beckyromero The real problem is the Biden/Mayorkas ?Harris letting them in in the first place. That is what should be condemned and reversed.

I find that interesting since the governor has publicly come out and said that she’s not going to cooperate with President Trump on deportation. I wasn’t aware of the actual numbers. I didn’t realize that we spent so much money on housing the migrants. I know New York is going broke from it and I guess I’m not terribly surprised that Boston is doing the same.
SusanInFlorida · 31-35, F
@joe438 NYC just converted the historic Roosevelt Hotel to a migrant housing center. Migrants promptly rioted on the sidewalk out front trying to gain entry and score a room before they were all spoken for.
joe438 · 61-69, M
@SusanInFlorida I had heard some of that and it’s truly sad that we put ourselves in that situation.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
Are these migrants or asylum seekers?
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
@joe438 blah blah blah. Let us know if you’re fine when Trump and the Republicans cut your Ss and Medicare. Hope you have a lot saved up.
SusanInFlorida · 31-35, F
@trollslayer @trollslayer the article doesn't make it clear. but is this a distinction without a difference. which is more acceptable - coming to america to become a cook or lawn crew worker? or coming to america because you've given up on restoring democacracy in the land of your birth?

You love throwing around "illegal" lol
SusanInFlorida · 31-35, F
@SomeMichGuy its the correct word. "migrant" is what politicians say to harvest votes from progressive constituents.
Housing everyone would definitely be much more efficient and better for people. But you don't even have a left in politics. You don't accept responsibility for humans. You win! Let's all watch the horror show. Nothing we can do bout road kill that prefers cars,! Let's just enjoy a wee gory end.
SusanInFlorida · 31-35, F
@Roundandroundwego no country does this. if housing in america for everyone was free, every third world citizen would come here in in a flash.

Hey,no mean tweets though!

Tax them some more! These leftists should be proud to shoulder the burden.
