President-elect Trump's Cabinet picks

So...for all of you who voted for former President Trump on the issues of the economy and immigration...did you count on all of the "loyalists" to be rewarded with being nominated for cabinet posts? The only nomination I had heard of so far who is at least halfway qualified is Marco Rubio. Pete Hegseth a Fox cohost? Tulsi Gabbard a former never-Trumper? Matt Gaetz??? The only hope is that there will be at least a few Republicans with balls to prevent recess appointments and even bigger balls to say no to people who are not in the least qualified.

I didn't vote, but I like his plan for the country.

I like his plan to charge more on foreign coming in the USA. So the USA will make more products

I also like his plan for term limits on Congress and the Senate

Them are some I like that heard about
@HumanEarth You do realize tariffs are taxing American importers and will result in the price of pretty much everything going up and likely crashing the economy.

And term limits are undemocratic. It creates an arbitrary situation where you are forced to vote for someone else.

Term limits for the POTUS were brought in by the GOP because they could not win an election against FDR.

If you can't win an election, just make up a rule that forces people vote for someone else.

Yes I realizes it

Oh and one more thing about the term limit thing and why I like it

For one thing it would limit the potential for corruption in the government. Politicians have less time to get “Corrupt” when there are term limits in place.

The second reason it would stop the various political games that people play. Just look at the crap that Congress has passed and a lot of the bills that include stipulations for various actions, activities, or funding requests that have nothing to do with what the actual legislation is supposed to cover. That bullshit needs to stop.

Here is one of my favorite reasons for term limits. Having term limits in place could encourage people to vote more often and maybe bring in new first time voters.

Here is a another good reason for term limits. They could help to bring in fresh people and new ideas in the Senate and Congress. Just look at Nancy Pelosi, she has been member of the House since 1987. That's way too long. You do your job and you move on and not make it a career.

Like it changes the perspective of what it means to be a politician when people are there that long. There are elected officials in our country who have served in Congress for over 50 years. Names like John Dingell and Robert Byrd fill the halls of this legislative body because they made a career out of being an elected official. Carl Hayden, Daniel Inouye, Jamie Whitten, John Conyers, and Carl Vinson all had uninterrupted tenures of more than 50 years as well. What is even more notable about this list is that with the exception of Strom Thurmond, Joseph Cannon, and Thad Cochran, the top 20 longest-serving politicians in the history of the United States were all Democrats.

By implementing term limits, we would change the idea of what it means to be a politician. Instead of turning this work into a career of its own, the service would become more like it was intended to be under the original Articles of Confederation – an act of civic duty.

Yes, there are bad sides to term limits to. But something has to be done to shake up the Congress and Senate. Because I believe that the whole world is facing a "One World Government" once USA collapses.

@HumanEarth Wait until the prices rise thanks to his tariffs, see how you like that. As to term limits, do you actually think his supporters will vote themselves OUT of office?

@HumanEarth A couple of things here. People who tend to stick around in politics do for one of two reasons. The first being like FDR is they are very very popular. If someone is popular and they are taking things in a direction the country approves of. Why force people to vote for someone else they don't even want?

The second one is party partisanship. Lets be real. In the US many Americans would vote for a literal sock puppet based exclusively whether they have a D or an R beside their name.

Party policy also tends to be largely the same so changing faces is largely irrelevant especially since both parties tend to block anyone who actually looks to change anything in a real way. See Bernie Sanders as an example.

Also corruption is a problem. But that has nothing to do with term limits. It has to do with lobbying and about 50 years of the US effectively legalizing nearly every form of bribery and influence peddling in politics.

Rotating faces will do nothing to change that and never has.

And if you are not happy with higher prices why vote for the guy who basically promised to double prices on everything?

Fun fact, the US imports the ink used to print the USD from China. So if he pulls this tariff war with China the US will even be printing USD at a loss.

There is no scenario where this ends well for anyone not a billionaire.

@HumanEarth remember, that’s coming from easily the most corrupt president we have had in modern history.
