Biden being Biden. Trump being Trump.
I can see this as an opportunity for both candidates to put some distance between the ugliness of some of their supporters.
Trump usually doubles down (panders to his base)
When it's Biden making a gaffe, it's always "he's an old man and has always made gaffes - what he really meant is...."
Neither is a good approach. Both sides need to acknowledge that both comments were extremely offensive and have no place in politics.
