Trump’s Puerto Rico fallout is ‘spreading like wildfire’ in Pennsylvania

Donald Trump has a serious Puerto Rico problem — in Pennsylvania.

Many Puerto Rican voters in the state are furious about racist and demeaning comments delivered at a Trump rally. Some say their dismay is giving Kamala Harris a new opening to win over the state’s Latino voters, particularlynearly half a million Pennsylvanians of Puerto Rican descent.

Evidence of the backlash was immediate on Monday: A nonpartisan Puerto Rican group drafted a letter urging its members to oppose Trump on election day. Other Puerto Rican voters were lighting up WhatsApp chats with reactions to the vulgar display and raising it in morning conversations at their bodegas. Some are planning to protest Trump’s rally Tuesday in Allentown, a majority-Latino city with one of the largest Puerto Rican populations in the state.

I'm wondering if he and MAGA are so detached from the real world that they actually think they can bring back racism, or is he intentionally sabotaging his campaign because he needs a reason to blame his loss on.

@BohemianBabe

I see what you're saying, but racism and bigotry are not in the majority in this country. They'd like to think so, but it just isn't so. I know the poll numbers might have us believe that, with Tяump so close in the race, but they estimate MAGAs numbers to be around 30 million, so that certainly isn't enough to win a Presidential race.
@calicuz It doesn't have to be the majority, it just has to be enough in the right states.

@BohemianBabe

We know that, but in their uneducated, delusional minds, they would believe their racism and bigotry is the voice of the country.

@eli1601

Any GOP endorsements will get overshadowed by the insulting remarks and simply bring more negative press to Trump.

@eli1601 there are cultists everywhere.
@eli1601 When your claim to fame is having a scattered representation of minorities who have already turned on their own people, hardly surprising.
Since 2015, we’ve been wondering what would finally bring Trump down. This might be it. I used to work with a Puerto Rican guy who was a Trump supporter. I wonder what he’s thinking now.

I sure hope that it swongs PA back to KH! She may not be able to win without it.
It's going viral!!

@Mamapolo2016 How about 1 week of virality; then he fades back into well-deserved obscurity.
@ElwoodBlues I don’t know how he chewed the wires enough to get on the stage. Actual vermin.
@Mamapolo2016 Actual vermin, sure. Also, his brand of "humor" appeals to the tRump crowd. They didn't give those time slots and that exposure to just anybody. The vermin was selected. Trumpters just failed to anticipate how badly it would backfire.

P.S. 8% of Pennsylvania and 5.6% of Florida is of Puerto Rican extraction. Another 2.4% of Florida is Haitian. Those add up to a "swing demographic" in two large states!!

President Biden’s garbage remarks likely sealed the deal
