@BohemianBabe He might have exaggerated but he wasn't lying. They do eat cats and dogs in their country because they're poor. That's why they came here.

@Spoiledbrat First of all, that's not true. Eating cats and dogs is taboo in Haiti. I'm sure it still happens here and there, but it's the same in America.

Secondly, the lie is that Haitians are stealing people pets and eating them, which is just wrong. Also, the Republicans have been lying about the Haitians all being criminals that destroyed the town.

For years, I've been saying that anyone who considers immigration to be a big issue is just racist. I'm against illegal immigration, of course, but I don't obsess over it like the Right does, I recognize it's not that big a deal.
So here is your proof. It's not about legal vs illegal, it never was, it's about race. The Right is obsessing over legal Haitians because they're black, that's it.

@BohemianBabe I don't obsess over it either but there were some calls made and weird happenings and some people jumped to conclusions. I think you're overthinking it in the same way you think conservatives overthink immigration. I think it's normal to be wary of people you know.

@Spoiledbrat I'm not saying you're racist. I'm talking about people like Trump, Vance, and Musk who are knowingly spreading these lies.
At one point, Vance even acknowledged that there's no evidence for any of those claims, but said he's still going to talk about Haitians eating pets in order to get the media's attention. Basically just admitting that he's lying.

I'm sure there are plenty of normies who believe this story because they're just gullible and don't fact-check anything. But the Republicans are knowingly spreading lies.
