More BS from the Kum crowd

More lies from Kum crowd. Gun violence is NOT the number one cause of death for children in America. They get that statement by including 18-19 your olds. Last time I checked 18 and 19 yo are adults..

No one voted against mandatory background checks, they are already mandatory when purchasing a firearm from a licensed dealer. They are NOT required in most states for private sales as they should NOT be.

The 2 nd amendment is just as vital today as it was the day it was ratified. The government has no authority to change or restrict it. It's purpose is to prevent the government from passing any laws , regulations or restrictions
keeping citizens from access to firearms.

You should all respect that when you vote . Our constitution doesn't guarantee that you can live without fear , but it does insure our access to firearms to protect ourselves our family , our property and our country from tyranny and hostile invaders.

You need to read the entire second amendment, and explore its context.

@SomeMichGuy I have many times and I have studied it for more than you I am sure. The entire 2 nd amendment is four lines. When broken down by historical legal experts and by historical language usage experts almost all agree it's rights are intent are for private citizens separate from any standing government or LE force.
@goodlil666 The first phrase is really important‐‐bit nearly always ignored by gun rights extremists--and Congress has recognized the militia in statute.

@SomeMichGuy Each of the four phrases are equally and critically important to the purpose of the 2 nd amendment as is its placement in the order of the rights. And unlike some would like believe a historical legal and language interpretation is critical to understand the true intent of its purpose.
@goodlil666 The first phrase explains WHY the right exists.

Congress has recognized the militias, by statute.

And if you agree with an historical interpretation, then you realize that the arms of that time were weapons which could not kill a crowd in seconds.

@SomeMichGuy The way it is worded made clear that " weapons necessary " that means weapons capable of defending against a standing army of the day. They were smart enough to know weapons were going to change and the people should have comparable weapons.

@SomeMichGuy It also makes clear that it is an individual right held by the citizens.
@goodlil666 ...for the express purpose of having a well-regulated militia.

You should spend some time with, say, the Cornell legal server.
