More BS from the Kum crowd

More lies from Kum crowd. Gun violence is NOT the number one cause of death for children in America. They get that statement by including 18-19 your olds. Last time I checked 18 and 19 yo are adults..

No one voted against mandatory background checks, they are already mandatory when purchasing a firearm from a licensed dealer. They are NOT required in most states for private sales as they should NOT be.

The 2 nd amendment is just as vital today as it was the day it was ratified. The government has no authority to change or restrict it. It's purpose is to prevent the government from passing any laws , regulations or restrictions
keeping citizens from access to firearms.

You should all respect that when you vote . Our constitution doesn't guarantee that you can live without fear , but it does insure our access to firearms to protect ourselves our family , our property and our country from tyranny and hostile invaders.

Why the puerile (yet deadly) obsession with guns in the US?

Grow up FFS and start saving innocent lives.

No normal person needs a gun (as is demonstrated by most other countries on Earth who manage to avoid daily school shootings).
goodlil666 · 51-55, M
@Adeptlinguist That's your opinion . It's an issue that doesn't even concern you , so mind your own business FFS.

Its not an obsession it's a constitutional right. And we have the right to protect ourselves, our families, our property and our country from tyranny and hostile forces.
dumasme · 51-55, M
@Adeptlinguist The US earned our independence from the British King because, the citizens were armed. The entire US government is set up on checks and balances, the way we, the people check and balance the government is through the right to vote and the right to keep and bear arms.
goodlil666 · 51-55, M
@dumasme Some people are no bright enough to realize that . Some people don't think it is relevant today. It is as relevant today as the day it was ratified.
@goodlil666 The “constitutional right” thing is obviously nonsense given that it talks in the context of a “well-regulated militia”. So yes, it’s an obsession, and a puerile and deadly one.

It is my business. I am a human being and care about innocent children being killed, even if they are foreign.
goodlil666 · 51-55, M
@Adeptlinguist That shows how much you DONT know. I well regulated militia to our founding fathers meant private citizens owning and possessing firearms capable of defending against a standing army of the day .

You need to stay out of it. Just because you have to be a victim of crime , we chose not to be and have that right. It is not your business at all. You keep your submissive repressed ideas on your side of the pond. They are not needed or ask for her.

@dumasme he's coming for you!
@goodlil666 I do not have to do anything you tell me!

The US has an unhealthy obsession with guns. It’s obvious from the statistics.

I hope that one day you will grow up as a nation.
dumasme · 51-55, M
@Adeptlinguist Why don't you just quietly enjoy the tyranny of your own government and stop trying to judge the citizens of our country? We enjoy freedoms and liberty that you can only dream of.
@dumasme
We enjoy freedoms and liberty that you can only dream of.

Oh do tell!

The freedom to be shot by a random nutter perhaps?

The freedom to be bankrupted by medical bills?

The freedom to have a president elected by a minority of the popular vote?

Any I missed?
dumasme · 51-55, M
@Adeptlinguist UK will be bankrupted by the Royal Family and instead of gun violence, Brits are more keen to stab someone. Humans will always find a way to injure/kill one another.

And, yes we have a President elected through representation, I'd have it no other way. The Electoral College is the check/balance to ensure the Urbanites (80% of the population that occupies 2.8% of our land) MUST include the rural areas in the government. Thus preventing tyranny of the masses.

UK had no general right to free speech until 1998. And, then you only got it through the European Convention on Human Rights. And, that can be taken from you by your government if they can show that it's necessary to protect national security, public safety, or the rights of others.

The Public Order Act criminalized various forms of peaceful protest, including "locking on".

The church of England is the official church, formed by a monarch so that he could divorce and murder women who failed to produce sons.

Shall I go on? I will defend the US, absolutely. You asked for this info so, I provided it. If that is how you want to live, then that is your freedom, I suppose. But, please don't pretend to know anything about the USA, unless you've actually lived here and participated in our systems, you likely only get what your and our media outlets pump into your living room. Please don't be willfully ignorant.

@dumasme I don’t live in the UK.

And I have indeed lived in the US.
dumasme · 51-55, M
@Adeptlinguist pardon my assumption.
dumasme · 51-55, M
@SpudMuffin I pulled my info from Oxford's website.
goodlil666 · 51-55, M
@Adeptlinguist it's not about growing up cupcake. We don't want to end up like you where we don't have the right to protect ourselves and our families. You can keep you " civilized" ideas where they belong , NOT IN ANERICA.
SpudMuffin · 61-69, M
@goodlil666 so civilised ideas don't belong in Anerica?
goodlil666 · 51-55, M
@SpudMuffin None that try to violate our constitutional rights.
