From Clinton:
Former president Bill Clinton also immediately condemned the shooting. “Violence has no place in America, especially in our political process,” he said, adding that both he and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are “thankful that President Trump is safe.”

Tell me why he offered national guard for security but that was turned down .within minutes he tweeted for the people to stop and not use violence. Trump is literally in charge of the national guard for DC. Not Nancy Pelosi. Not anyone else. If Trump wanted the guard there for security, all he had to do was to call for it. He didn't. 3. Trump did not tweet for people to stop committing violence "within minutes". Anti-American terrorists began assembling in numbers large enough to concern Senator Todd Young (R-IN) by 1130 AM. Protesters stormed the police barriers at 1 PM and break through police lines by 130 PM. Just after 2 PM, the Capitol Building itself is breached through windows broken by the Trump mob. The building goes into lockdown due to the violence by 220 PM. By 238 PM, members of Congress are told to don gas masks due to tear gas presence. Cultists begin to gather in State Capitols in Ohio, Louisiana, and Florida. The Trump Cult breaks into the Senate Chamber before 3 PM. At 311 PM, Republican Representative Mike Gallagher begs Trump to call off his Cult. "Mr. President, you have got to stop this. You are the only person who can call this off. Call it off," Gallagher implores. "The election is over. Call it off." Trump continues to refuse to call off his terrorists. Ashli Babbitt is justifiably shot and killed as she tries to access a restricted area. Finally, Trump is forced by horrified White House staffers to tweet asking protesters to remain peaceful, but does not tell them the election results show he lost the election. Finally, at 417 PM, Trump tweets to his Cult telling them to leave the Capitol. 4. It is not a fact that ANTIFA was responsible for the Trump Cult violence of January 6. If that was the case, why did Republicans do everything they could to stop investigations of the events? Wouldn't they want evidence of ANTIFA involvement to come out? But there was no ANTIFA. And they knew it and know it today. 5. So you believe that Trump's violent rhetoric is fine, but calling it out is inciting Republican shooters to try to assassinate Trump? Wow, just wow. 6. Trump is clearly a danger to democracy. I don't hate Trump. I think he is severely mentally ill, and he needs mental health treatment that he will never receive. Other nations, such as our allies, fear Trump because he is impulsive and violent and compromised, and cannot be counted on to do the right thing. He has already demonstrated during Covid that he cares more about himself than the lives of millions of Americans. He is the kind of leader who would gladly sacrifice millions of American lives for his personal wealth and benefit. Putin knows this and knows how to exploit Trump. If Trump takes office again, it will not end well.
