FLORIDA MAN Straps Entire House Down Ahead of Hurricane Milton

Don't see what much that's going to do against a storm surge or hurricane-spawned tornados or two-by-fours flying at 150mph like missiles.

@Vin53 🤔.......Looked like rebar on the one in the drive way and also all are buried in 8 feet of concrete...........

@Jimmy2016 to me it looks like straps pounded into and secured with spikes on a tiny front grass lawn with no visible other anchors. Idk what you're looking at.
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
@Vin53 I was only talking about the one in the drive way only.......Anyway, what ever the anchors are, they are in cased in 8 feet on concrete according to the daughter.....They're not just suck in the ground with spikes. I don't know what your looking at.........

@Jimmy2016 Do you really think a contractor is going to build a house in FL on top of 8ft of laid concrete?
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
@Vin53 The house is not built on a 8 ft concrete slab.......Geeez......Only where the straps are tied down.........He may have used concrete form tubes at 8ft of length.......

@Jimmy2016

It really does beg the question of why anyone would bury 8' concrete pillars for the sole purpose of using nylon straps to tie down one's house.

@Vin53 Ask him...........not me......
Vin53 · M
@Jimmy2016 Maybe his daughter hasn't a clue wtf she's talking about and was referring to the width of the driveway.

@Vin53 I'm not sure..........
