Jan. 6 investigator says he has ‘receipts’ on Clarence and Ginni Thomas

A former House GOP lawmaker says Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas should be removed from the bench over his “unethical” behaviozzzr and taunted people to challenge him.

“Come at me. I got receipts,” Denver Riggleman posted to X, calling Thomas’ wife, Ginni Thomas, “disturbed.”

Riggleman posted in response to a clip of Donald Trump saying at a rally that “people should be put in jail for the way they talk about our judges and justices.”

“Clarence Thomas is, at the least, unethical. Should be removed from the bench. His wife, Ginni Thomas, is disturbed. Come at me. I got receipts.” Riggleman said.

Riggleman was a senior technical adviser for the January 6th committee that investigated the deadly insurrection that saw a mob of mostly Trump supporters overrun the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

In other words, he was the person who collected and analyzed the data collected from cell phones and other devices.

The committee heard from Ginni Thomas in 2022 after it was unearthed she sent weeks of text messages imploring White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to act to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

The 29 messages the pair exchanged came in the weeks after the vote in November 2020, when Trump and his top allies were still saying they planned to go to the Supreme Court to have its results voided.

The Post reported that on Nov. 10, three days after the election and after The Associated Press and other news outlets declared Democrat Joe Biden the winner, Virginia Thomas, a conservative activist, texted to Meadows: “Help This Great President stand firm, Mark!!! ... You are the leader, with him, who is standing for America’s constitutional governance at the precipice. The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History.”

Clarence Thomas, meanwhile, has been ensnared in controversy for failing to report luxury trips paid by Republican megadonor Harlan Crow.

Crow also purchased the house in Georgia where Clarence Thomas’s mother continues to live and paid for two years of private school tuition for a child raised by Thomas and his wife.

Isn't this old news? Didn't have have this damning evidence 2 years ago and nothing has happened? Why didn't they do something while the Democrats were still in control?

I suspect in the end it's a nothing burger.
@joe438 The difficulty is that you need the House to act in providing articles of impeachment, and the Senate to convict.

This House would never act on it, because the party which used to have traditional "values"--including truth, the rule of law, etc.--as their centerpiece has left them by the wayside.

Without any mechanism other than impeachment available--and the Judicial Branch the bastard stepchild of the Constitution--we again have this turn into a political question.

@SomeMichGuy The usual obstacle that would get in the way of impeaching a POC is that you can’t go after a protected minority. The left has decided that the rules don’t apply to Clarence Thomas because he’s a conservative. If it were a liberal judge with dark skin they’d be screaming “Racist” from the rafters if he had taken the same vacations. If there’s evidence that any of his judgements have been compromised, then fine. If not they ought to pipe down and go back to their insider trading, sex trafficking or whatever illegal thing they do.
@joe438 It's not the left which is the problem here.

@SomeMichGuy it’s not the middle or the right calling for his impeachment.

If the guy is corrupt, or more accurately, more corrupt than the representatives, senators or president, then they should make their case and dump him. I have no specific knowledge of his actions and bad decisions except for what the biased media reports. I know it’s all on record so it’s not hard to figure out if he’s a problem. I think we have bigger problems though.
@joe438 He failed to disclose huge conflict issues in a timely fashion or recuse himself from cases benefitting his benefactors.

There can be no "protection" from violating law or ethics.

@SomeMichGuy Great. Then go ahead, charge him and impeach him. Im just saying that if he were a liberal than no one would say a word.
@joe438 The problem is the RIGHT, bc THEY won't impeach him. lmao
