What's Going on in Oklahoma? And Is It Another Sign of Doom for Donald Trump?

In 1996 Bob Dole defeated Bill Clinton, 48%-40% (with H. Ross Perot receiving 11%)

In 2000 George W. Bush defeated Al Gore, 60%-38%.

In 2004 George W. Bush defeated John Kerry, 66%-34%.

In 2008 John McCain defeated Barack Obama, 66%-34%.

In 2012 Mitt Romney defeated Barack Obama, 66%-33%.

In 2016 Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton, 65%-29%.

In 2020 Donald Trump defeated Joe Biden, 65%-32%.

But a SoonerPoll conducted in the last week of August has Vice President Harris cutting Trump's margin in 2020 in half: 56%-40%.

The last time a Democratic presidential candidate got 40% of the Oklahoma vote was Bill Clinton's popular and Electoral College landslide in 1996.

Well, it certainly won't deliver Oklahoma to Harris 😂

But the point is, if Trump is doing worse in a state like Oklahoma, it bodes well for Harris in states she can and must win.
SW-User
@beckyromero Not necessarily. Shipping votes to Harris in otherwise deep-red states will only boost her popular vote. She could be within a hairs breadth of winning Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas on election day, and still lose by losing Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan. A huge popular vote didn't help Hillary.

True. But think of it this way. If Trump is losing votes in a solid red state, shouldn't he be losing votes in more moderate states?
SW-User
@beckyromero I'd like to think so. And I still think Harris will win comfortably.

@beckyromero Wishful thinking.

Ohio down to six points in a recent poll.

Trump is bleeding MAGA supporters all over the country and is pouring his funds into pretty much just the swing states.

@beckyromero But six points is huge. Trump will win Ohio. This all means nothing if Harris doesn't retain Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Not saying Trump will lose Ohio. But the smaller the lead for Trump in Ohio, the better it bodes for Harris in MI and PA.

@beckyromero I hope so
