Night one of the DNC reached an average of 20 million viewers, versus the 18 million who watched night one of the RNC.

The disparity on night two was even more extreme, with 20.8 million viewers tuning in to the DNC as Barack and Michelle Obama spoke, while only 14.8 million watched the RNC.

I predicted this a few weeks ago. The unusual circumstances and more hopeful tone of the Democrat ticket will get more interest from not-normally-politically-interested people, which will in turn get more attention from the media trying to cash in on the viewership, which all leads to positive gains for the Harris/Walz ticket. People who normally are sick and tired of politics paid at least a little attention and if they watched a hopeful message, they are more likely to vote in that direction. Watch the polls next week. Right now, I am reading that Harris only trails Trump by 5% in Texas. Yes, TEXAS.

As I said a few weeks ago, I don't think this election will be as close as people think.

@SDavis Since Carter, no Democrat has won Texas. Closest to come was Clinton who lost by 3.5 points. But the blue spreading from Austin and Houston, the two most important centers of innovation and economic power, is starting a slow but steady shift. Hillary came within 9 points.

Hit the send too soon. I meant to add that the Fox poll, released a few hours ago show Harris trailing Trump by 4.9 points, and only 1 point among Latino voters.

Lets face it, the DNC has some great speakers and entertainment, that even a normal non-Trumpist GOP couldn't gin up.

It's going to be hard when for Kamala to follow this lineup, and I wouldn't be surprised if there's even some drop tonight.

On the flip side, Trumpists are WEIRD and people like to watch train wrecks. Hopefully, not all of the viewers will vote for them.
