Why are liberal women using fake southern accents all of a sudden?

Furst Kamala Harris did the fake southern accent, and now AOC.

What exactly is going on? Is there some TV show liberals all watch that take place in the south? Is it being done unconsciously, or is it a campaign strategy to win over aouthern women?

Trump, on the other hand, really does sound like that. My brother-in-law grew up in Manhattan and has the same accent. It's a very difficult one to fake without sounding like Alfred in Miracle on 34th Street. From toity-toid street. In Bensonhoist. The southern accent is easier to fake.
