Don't be suprised if President Biden pardons him.

@beckyromero That would destroy Biden’s legacy and reflect badly on Harris. It could even drive people from the Democratic Party.
Ford’s pardoning of Nixon is now seen as a mistake, although in that case it could have been a quid pro quo. Trump has nothing to offer Biden. Maybe before the debate they could have made a deal where right before the election, Trump drops out and endorses Biden, but neither one of them would have gone for that.

I disagree. If it happens, it would happen after Harris' certification of victory by Congress. (As President of the Senate, she'd be announcing her own victory like George H. W. Bush did).
Ford narrowly lost re-election. But he is now largely praised for pardoning Nixon.
The MAGA people will never praise Biden for pardoning Trump. Historians will.

@beckyromero Other historians blame pardoning Nixon as setting us up for the lawless Trump presidency. Pardoning him wouldn't bring the country together. MAGAs would still hate Biden, and so would liberals.
Trumpism needs to be crushed, and sending Trump to prison will accomplish that. Pardoning him would only reinforce his feelings of invincibility. We don't need him injecting his poison into the next four years. However, if he serves a few years in prison, maybe Harris can think about pardoning him at that point, assuming the MAGA cult has disappeared. If he's still alive in 2032, she can pardon him then.
